31 Day Reset – Day 29 – Get your “side hustle” on

I am participating in the 31 Day Reset which is a life coaching challenge hosted by Rosetta Thurman on her blog Happy Black Woman. So far I have really been enjoying the challenge and I hope that you enjoy following me along on this challenge. If you are interested in doing the challenge, click here.

For this exercise I am supposed to develop a side hustle that will generate more money on the side. Every so often I may sell unwanted items on eBay to make a few dollars but nothing very serious. Basically this will be a short blog post because a side hustle is not what I intend to do now. I do not have the time or the want to start a side hustle. I am a full-time student at the University that I work for and I also work full-time, have 3 dogs and a family to care for. Education is my current side hustle with the result creating my main hustle of a career in counseling.

31 Day Reset – Day 21 – Ditch the Debbie Downers!

I am participating in the 31 Day Reset which is a life coaching challenge hosted by Rosetta Thurman on her blog Happy Black Woman. Day 21 of the 31 day reset is to remove negative people from your life. I actually did not have to complete this exercise because the negative people that were in my life have already been removed. In 2008, I divorced my husband who was very negative (he was verbally abusive and controlling), last summer a  girl friend of mine that is quite judgmental moved to from here back to the East Coast. I have periodically gone through my personal Facebook page and unfriended people that really did not respond to my status updates or posts that I make on their pages (I mean, you can’t respond to a simple hello!?) and I am really thinking of deactivating that account but there is family that I communicate with on there because I am not really a phone person. I have also already deactivated my Facebook fan page and facebook page associated with my YouTube user name. The only person that is left to work on is me. I am often a debbie downer because I am hard on myself, I do not recognize my accomplishments, and I can go on and on. However, this is the reason why I am doing the 31 Day Reset. If I have to, I will do the 31 Day reset as many times as needed to open up my mind to all of the possibilities and reset my life!

31 Day Reset – Day 20 – Cleaning house!

The exercise for Day 20 of the 31 Day Reset is to get rid of stuff you do not need. I think this was a wonderful exercise to complete. I have many items that I have that I just do not need anymore. These items are wasting space in my home as well as wasting cyberspace. I have gotten rid or plan to get rid of the following:

1. My Vanity

2. My extra cellphone

3. A shoe rack I was using to store my hair products

4. My high heels that I will never wear

5. Paperwork that is not military, tax, divorce, or home purchase related

6. My LuvnDaNaturalMe Facebook fan page

7. Magazines that I have already read.

On the day I completed this exercise I stopped by Wal-Mart on my way home from work.  I purchased two Sterilite 5 drawer units, one wide and one narrow. I placed all of my hair accessories, hair products, combs, brushes, and oils in the narrow drawer unit. In the wide drawer unit, I placed other items such has my camcorders, pens, notebooks, and important papers. These two drawer units are more functional than my vanity ever was.

I listed my Vanity on Craigslist and it was sold within 24 hours, my cellphone (a myTouch 4g) has been listed on eBay and that auction is closing in the next five days. The shoes that I do not wear will be dropped off at the Goodwill on Friday, the shoe rack has been tossed in the garbage, the magazines in the recycling bin, my Facebook fan page has been deactivated and all paperwork that is not important has been shredded.  When I completed this exercise, I felt so relieved afterwards. I am not finished yet, I have thought of more the get rid of and it feels so good to de-clutter in my life.

31 Day Reset – Day 19 – Reviving my love life

I am a day behind on the challenge but that is ok. The exercise for Day 19 of the 31 Day Reset is to revive your love life. There were 2 options to complete this exercise. The first option is to do something for your partner that you have not done since you first met. The other option gave tips to find love if you do not have a partner. Here were my plans for reviving my love life.

One of the things I used to do for my boyfriend was to give him a nice back massage. He would lay down on the bed, I would turn off the lights, play soft slow music, light some candles and work the kinks out of his back. Most times he  would be snoring when I was done because of how relaxed he was. My plan was to do that for him yesterday but my plan failed. He did not get home until 8 pm and he still had extra work to do out in our garage. He is a motorcycle mechanic and he was working on a few side jobs in our garage that he must get done by Friday. Needless to say, I did not have the opportunity to execute my plan last night or tonight. Hopefully I will at some point over the weekend. I have good intentions so I guess that should count for something on this exercise. We shall see….

31 Day Reset – Day 18 – My Bucket List
